Tati: Floral and Illustrative Tattoos in Vienna
Tati works with floral and illustrative designs at True Canvas. Her lines are clear and fully saturated rather than heavily reduced, which is why her work keeps its contrast after healing. Before tattooing she studied graphic design, and before that she spent her whole youth at an art school in Odessa. She tattooed first in her own studio there, and in Vienna since she moved.

Clear lines, botanical designs and small symbols with personal meaning
Tati was drawing long before she started tattooing.
She grew up in Odessa and attended art school throughout her childhood and teenage years. That is where she learned to put ideas into drawings, long before it was clear where it would lead. In time, the drawings began to find their way beyond the pages of her sketchbook, becoming little pieces of art carried on the skin of her friends. From there it wasn't far.

From Odessa to Vienna
After art school, Tati studied graphic design while continuing to develop her tattooing. In 2016 she officially entered the industry and later opened her own private studio in Odessa.
The move to Vienna came after that. She works at True Canvas now and keeps developing her visual language here.

What graphic design left behind
Graphic design leaves you with a particular way of thinking, and in Tati's work you can see it in every piece.
A design doesn't come together as a collection of details. It comes together as a form. What carries the image, where does it need air, where can a line stop without anything being missing. She asks those questions before she thinks about skin.

Delicate designs, solid lines
This is worth a closer look, because fine line is often used as a catch-all term for anything delicate.
Tati's designs are delicate, her lines are not always delicate in the classic sense. In her illustrative work above all she uses solid black, meaning lines that sit fully in the skin rather than heavily reduced pigment. The result reads clear and graphic rather than soft and sketched. Alongside that she also works with fine lines and soft grey tones, mostly on botanical designs.
The difference becomes clearer as a tattoo heals. Fine lines and soft grey tones settle into a lighter, more delicate result, while solid black lines tend to hold more contrast. How a tattoo develops also depends on the design, line weight, placement and individual healing. Which approach suits you depends on the effect you're after, so it's worth raising with your inquiry. What defines fine line and how it ages is covered in our article on fine line tattoos.

Flowers, animals and small symbols
Her motifs come mostly from nature: blossoms, branches, plants, animals.
Alongside those are small illustrative pieces with a playful streak, personal symbols and lettering. Often it's exactly those small designs that mean the most, because there's a specific story behind them.
Tati draws her inspiration from nature, from everyday life and from other forms of creative expression. Outside the studio she regularly tries out new creative directions and stays active, and both feed back into her work.

A tattoo that belongs to you
For Tati it isn't only about a design looking good.
It should feel like the person wearing it. That's why a design comes together in conversation with her, not alone at a desk. She asks questions, listens and develops the idea with you until it's right.
That is also why the exchange with her clients matters so much to her. A design that simply gets waved through isn't the goal. One you helped shape is.
From your first idea to the appointment
You don't have to know what you want before you get in touch.
Tati helps with developing the idea, with choosing placement and size, and also when you're unsure about something. Nobody should sit in the chair with a bad feeling or be embarrassed to ask a question.

Tattoos with Tati
Tati works particularly well with floral and botanical designs, small illustrative tattoos with personal meaning, and lettering. Her range runs from delicate botanical lines and soft grey tones to illustrative designs in solid black with clear graphic forms, so it helps to say which end of that range you have in mind.
